The Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Maritime Bank) marked its 18th founding anniversary on July 12, 2009. .Established under the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s License No. 01/GP, immediately after the Ordinance on Commercial Banks, Credit Cooperatives, and Financial Companies taking effect, Maritime Bank has contributed to create a significant breakthrough of the country’s transferring process of economic structure. .The bank’s total assets rise 143 per cent from the beginning of

this year to VND46 trillion by the end of June. Between Jan and Jun, Maritime Bank raised VND43 trillion of deposits. These are attributed to the bank’s great efforts by offering products and services suitable to clients’ demand and promoting lots of preferential programmes and attractive promotion programmes through out the past six months. .During the period, Maritime Bank is very successful to the expansion of its client network to businesses, reflected through signing contracts with big corporations like the Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines), Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the Becamex Industrial Development and Investment Company, Click & Phone Securities Corporation. .On the occasion of its 18th foundation, the Prime Minister has granted certificate of merit to Maritime Bank for its achievements and great contributions to the country’s economic development.Luu Hiep
