The 5th Vietnam International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Marine Technology & Transportation (Vietship 2010) opened at the My Dinh National Convention Centre in Hanoi on March 17. Addressing the opening, Minister of Transport Ho Nghia Dung said although Vietship 2010 is held while the world economy is facing difficulties, it has attracted a large number of shipbuilding and marine companies from all over the world.
Vietship 2010 is jointly held by the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) and C.I.S Vietnam Advertising and Exhibition Joint Stock Company. "It will create opportunities to boost investment cooperation, exchange technology, promote trade and develop Vietnams shipbuilding and marine industry," said Mr. Dung.
There are as many as 600 booths put up by 300 designing companies, manufacturers, equipment suppliers, ship owners and registered businesses from developed shipbuilding countries like Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.
During the exhibition there will be signing ceremonies for cooperation agreements, shipbuilding contracts and equipment supply as well as seminars on Vietnam and international marine industry.
The exhibition is scheduled to last until March 19.
