Vietnam goods at super market in Ho Chi Minh city rise

Between 90% and 95% of goods being displayed at supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City are Vietnam-made ones, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC).

The rate of Vietnamese goods being offered for sales in the Ho Chi Minh City market stands at 65%, the ITPC said at a meeting on Oct 13 to promote the use of locally-made products.

The city plans to raise the proportion of Vietnamese goods consumption by 20% in the coming years, the center added.

At present, Ho Chi Minh City plans to raise its total number of supermarkets and trade centers to 177 and 163 by 2015 from the current 82 and 22, respectively.
