Vietnam Cashew Industry Festival opened in southern Binh Phuoc

The Vietnam Cashew Industry Festival opened in southern Binh Phuoc province on March 18 with a total of 400 stands representing 150 enterprises. The festival is being jointly sponsored by the provincial Peoples Committee and the Vietnam Cashew Association.

The festival ground is divided into several sections, showcasing the steady growth of the cashew industry, the provinces socio-economic development, and introducing different kinds of cashew trees with high economic value for each specific region of the country.

Other sections featured products made from processed cashew nuts such as candies, oils, alcohols, and handicrafts plus machines and equipments used in cashew production.

The festival has also attracted rubber companies, soft drinks companies and other economic groups.

The Deputy Head of the Provincial Peoples Committee said that the festival is the provinces first programme to receive support from the national trade.

On the festivals opening day, its organising board announced 24 prizes for newspaper and magazine articles and music and songs promoting the festival.

A conference was also held to promote tourism and provide businesses with information and technical assistant in planting, processing, importing and exporting cashews and cashew products.
