In details, in the first seven months of this year, the foreign-invested firms estimated gaining $3.6 billion of apparel export turnover, a year-on-year surge of 21.1 percent and counting for 61 percent of the total.
Up to the end of July, Vietnams total apparel export turnover was reported at $5.85 billion, increasing by 16.9 percent against the same period of last year.
In details, in the first seven months of this year, the foreign-invested firms estimated gaining $3.6 billion of apparel export turnover, a year-on-year surge of 21.1 percent and counting for 61 percent of the total.
The US, EU and Japan continued the three key export markets for domestic enterprises in textile and garment sector with export turnover in Jan-July of $3.3 billion, $986 million and $580 million respectively, up 20.2 percent, 2.3 percent and 13.3 percent in comparison with the same period of last year. The total value of apparel products to be exported to three major, large markets was posted at $4.87 billion, equal to 83.3 percent of the total.
According to statistics released by Vietnam Textile and Garment Association, there was plentiful of orders for domestic firms in late 2010 and the first half of 2011. However, the association warned the members about the price and attached conditions while signing the export contracts because it was predicted that the prices of imported raw materials would keep increasing in the near future, in order to avoid losses.
