51 golf courses licenses were revoking

Government agencies must tighten control over license granting to golf course projects, it added, noting that it is unacceptable to use agriculture land, and land for construction of urban residential areas and industrial parks to develop golf courses.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) has proposed the government revoke licenses of 51 golf course projects because of inefficient land use, the government of Vietnam said on its website.   The figure could be higher when the ministry finishes its ongoing probes into golf course projects nationwide.   A resolution announced at the government August meeting states it is necessary to work out a national golf course development plan so that land will be efficiently used.   In addition, golf course development must ensure environment protection, the resolution also said.
